In 1999, Rev. Rajesh Joe had a vivid vision to plant a church, unlike the usual version of church that is widespread in our culture. He endeavoured to attain a church that equips the talents of every individual to create authentic leaders and faithful stewards for the Kingdom of God. By the will and grace of the Almighty, Church of Sinai was planted in the year 2004 with a motto: “Faithfulness is greater than Successfulness”. It began in a small hut without minimal conditioning at best with 7 believers. The Israelites who were called the people of God were uncivilized without any identity or culture. But the Lord promised His servant Moses and brought them out of Egyptian bondage to Mt. Sinai where God Himself civilised them, gave them an identity and designed them a lifestyle. Therefore, the church was named “Church of Sinai” where the people would inculcate a Bible based culture and lifestyle. It is located at Sithalapakkam, Chennai, India.

We battled several years in worshipping the Lord in a small, dilapidated building and during monsoons, there would be a huge inflow of water inside the Church. Sometimes the Sunday Service was conducted in a nearby school. Such difficulties made us pray earnestly for a new Church. In the month of April 2018, the old building was demolished and by the amazing grace of God, the new Church construction was commenced. The new Church was inaugurated in the year 2019 on 16th of August.

Church of Sinai is a Christ - centred family encouraging, teaching, and building one another up in the wisdom and grace of the Lord. Our church welcomes anybody who believes in Christ and seeks to have fellowship and edification from the Church.
